March 2025: Grad School, Job Hunt, and New Adventures

Spring is hinting at its arrival and‬ with the two months left until I graduate from simon business school with my MS in AI in‬ business, lifes a flurry of deadlines and possibilities. Here’s what’s keeping me busy, from coursework to job applications, as hiring season heats up.

The Grad School Grind

Simon’s been transformative. I’m tackling a‬ ‭ 20 hour study week with coursework like AI and Deep Learning CIS433, Big Data‬ ‭ CIS431, and Social Media and Text Analytics CIS434—stretching my skills beyond my‬ ‭ real estate marketing days with Approachables and CloudApproach. Last week, I met‬ ‭ with Rebecca  Rebecca (Senior Program Specialist in Entrepreneurship), to kick off a mentorship at Simon’s Ain Foundry Center, where we’ll develop an AI-driven marketing module to help student founders sharpen their branding and pitch strategies, while I guide them on broader marketing tactics. Meanwhile, I’m juggling 20-hour study weeks with job interviews—hoping to turn classroom insights into career wins.

Tools in Focus

I’m diving into product management tools like Jira, picking up workflows and prioritization tricks. Exploring these alongside other platforms keeps my skills sharp as I prep for roles in product management or consulting—less about launching ventures now, more about mastering the craft.

Fun in the Mix

I took a break to visit my sister in Chapel Hill, exploring UNC and Duke campuses. The warm weather and campus vibes were a refreshing shift from Rochester’s gray—recharging me for the grind ahead.

Challenges Ahead

The job hunt’s intensifying with hiring season in full swing, and imposter syndrome’s a quiet nag. Tailoring applications for consulting or strategy roles is its own beast—every cover letter feels like a mini-project. Plus, adjusting to Rochester’s unpredictable spring weather keeps me on my toes.

What’s Next?

As May 2025 looms, I’m focused on landing a job, nailing interviews, and mastering tools like Jira to bridge my entrepreneurial past with a product management future. It’s all about finding the right fit and leveling up.
